Tommy Glen Davis, age 76 of Jackson, passed away on Monday, August the 10th of 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a short illness. Tommy was born the middle child of the late Sam and LeeNell Dickson Davis in Senath, Missouri on July 16, 1944. Mr. Davis was seventeen when he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Jackson, Tennessee. Tommy was a long time heavy equipment owner-operator and later retired as a driver for Indiana Transport. He enjoyed several hobbies such as fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his several grand and great-grandchildren. If he was listening to music, it was probably being sung by Willie Nelson or Waylon Jennings and if he was watching television it was probably a John Wayne movie, which were some of his favorites. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Barbara Holder Davis, five daughters: Teresa Carter (Lee), Tonya Piwonka, Kristy Fluty (Jerome), Nise Pace (Jeremy), Jeanita Hosea (Chris) and a son: Tim Davis (Toni); two step-daughters, Donna Tamplet (Robert) and Shelly Doyen (Russell). His family that he cherished included 21 Grandchildren: Lauren Haynie, Roy Beecham, Philip Davis, Corey Davis, Christian Davis, Savanna Davis, Cortney Piwonka, Johnny Piwonka, Jakob Dickson, Kaleb Dickson, Jonah Dickson, Ryan Wilson, Jodie Phillips, Rachel Carter, Kate Matlock, Alexis Fluty, Amanda Myton, Daniel Sale, Emily Davis, Erica Shapaka, Evelyn Goodwin and 23 Great Grandchildren: Cullen Haynie, Parker Davis, Landon Davis, Rhyan Davis, Case Davis, Rozalie Orozco, Dean Orozco, Corbyn Thane, Hunter Avery, Addison Wilson, Brentlee Dyer, Natalie Carter, Wyatt, Elaina and Wade Matlock, Betsy Myton, Kaleb Adain, Devon Davis, Kaleb and Kessler Shapaka, Andrew, Travis, and Remington Goodwin. Preceding Tommy in death was his wife, Patricia Ann Horton Davis and his brothers, Kennith and Jerry Davis. The Davis family will receive friends on Thursday, August 13th from 4 – 8 PM at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington and stresses that all visitors wear a mask and practice social distancing due to Covid-19 concerns. The family will have a private funeral service on Friday with interment following at Chapel Hill Cemetery near Lexington. In lieu of flowers the Davis family suggest making a donation to the American Cancer Society in honor of Tommy Davis.
