He was born November 29, 1935 in Henderson County to the late Clyde L. and Lillian Mullins Williams. He was retired from Harding Machine where he managed quality control and environmental safety. He was also a farmer working the land his family had worked since the early 1800s. Known as the “Honey Man,” he hosted many school field trips, educating students in the science of bees. And with a lifelong love of music, in retirement he founded the The Peckerwood Pickers. He was full of fun and laughter, a pillar of the church and community, and, quoting the obituary of his grandfather, he was “a hardworking honest man.” He was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Keith Williams; his brother, James Williams; and two sisters, Helen Hopper and Mary Lou Rushing. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mildred Roberts Williams; his son, Torey K. Williams (Judith); his daughter, Teresa Williams (Larry Campbell); and two grandchildren, Lauren Williams and Wesley Williams.”
